海岸线长约500千米。全境除印度洋沿岸延伸着宽约200千米的平原地带之
外，大部分地区是海1000--1200米的高原。高原东北部是辽阔的半荒漠地区。东非大裂谷
的东支纵贯高原的西部，谷底在高原而以下450-1000米，宽50-100千米，谷底屹立着许
多火山，有些仍在继续活动。最高大的死米山锥巴蒂安山海拔5199米，是全国最高山峰，
峰顶终年积雪。瓦加加伊峰海拔4321米，它以直径达15千米的巨大米山口驰名。境内有
较多的湖泊和河流。较大的河流塔纳河与萨巴基河。两河水量不丰富，但多急流。东北部
地区的河流几乎全部是间歇河。境内有维多利亚湖的一小部分和图尔卡纳湖的大部分水域。
裂谷内还有约20个逐渐干渭的小湖。
肯尼亚有东非的旅游之国的美称，被誉为\"鸟兽的乐园\"。它的旅游资源非常丰富，有风
光秀丽的湖滨、海滩：生活着各种珍禽异兽的天然动物园；有闻名世界的东非大裂谷和赤道
雪山；有史前人类遗址；还有多姿多彩的风土人情。肯尼亚是非洲经济比较发达的国家之一，
服务业有一定水平，所以到肯尼亚旅游相对来说比较方便。肯尼亚虽然地处赤道，但终年气
候温暖宜人，四季均适合旅游。
自然地理
位于非洲东部，赤道横贯中部，南北走向的东非大裂谷与赤道在境内相交叉。东邻索马
里，南部与坦桑尼亚毗邻，西接乌干达，北与苏丹和埃塞俄比亚交界，东南濒印度洋，海岸
线长500公里。沿东非大裂谷地带湖泊众多，特别是图尔卡纳湖各种水产资源丰富，西南
部还有非洲第一大湖泊--维多利亚；两条最大的河流是塔纳河和加拉纳河。两河水量不丰富，
但多急流。另有一些季节性河流。大部分地区属热带草原气候。西南部高原地区气候温和，
月平均温度为14～19℃之间，年降水量为750～1000毫米，属热带森林气候。东南沿海地
区炎热湿润，年平均温度为24℃，年均降水量500～1200毫米。北部和东部沙漠或半沙漠
地带，气候干热少雨，年降水量250～500毫米。
热门景点
首都内罗毕是东非第一大城，非洲东西南北交通之要冲，市区观光景点如市政府、最高
法院、国会大厦、总统府及国家博物馆，博物馆内有250万年前的巧人遗骸。在阿布岱尔
国家公园AberdareNationalPark保护区内可夜宿独特的树顶旅馆，观赏落日余晖与野生动
物。山布鲁动物保护区，有细纹斑马、东非剑羚、索马利驼鸟，长颈羚等动物。夏巴国家动
物保护区ShabaNationalReserve有葛氏细纹斑马、东非剑羚、蓝腿的索马利驼鸟、条纹
鬣狗，以及十分特殊的长颈羚等其它地区少见的野生物种，晚上可于旅馆欣赏山布鲁族之土
著舞蹈表演。纳库鲁湖NakuruLake是世界最大、最著名的野鸟观赏湖，非洲五大动物(Big
Five)除大象外，其余狮子、豹、非洲水牛及犀牛也经常出没于此。马赛马拉野生动物保护
区有近300多万种动物群是参观全球最大的野生动物保护区，素有\"非洲狮子故乡\"之称。
