一、英语名词可分专有名词和普通名词两大类
1、专有名词是个别的人、地、物、团体、机构等的专用名称。专有名词中实词的第一个字母
要大写。如：Beijing,Tom,thePeople’sRepublicofChina(中华人民共和国)
专有名词如果是含有普通名词的短语,则必须使用定冠词the。如：theGreatWall(长城)
姓氏名如果采用复数形式,则表示该姓氏一家人(复数含义),如：theGreens(格林一家
人)。
2、普通名词是许多人或事物的共有名称。如：pupil,family,man,foot.
普通名词又分为可数名词和不可数名词。
▲可数名词是可以用简单的数词进行计数的名词,如：box,child,orange；
▲不可数名词是不可以用简单的数词进行计数的名词。如：water,news,oil,population,
information.
二、可数名词的单复数
可数名词有单数、复数两种形式。表示一个人或物的用单数形式；表示两个(或两个以上的)
人或事物的用复数形式。请看：
1、可数名词复数形式的规则变化：
一般情况在词尾加smap→maps,boy→boys,horse→horses,
table→tables
以s,x,sh,ch结尾的名词在词尾加esclass→classes,box→boxes,dish→dishes,
bench→benches
以“辅音字母+y”结尾的名
词
变y为i,再加
es
family→families,city→cities,party→parties.
部分以f或fe结尾的名词变f或fe为v,
再加es
shelf→shelves,wolf→wolves,life→lives,
knife→knives口诀一
部分以o结尾的名词在词尾加espotato→potatoes，tomato→tomatoes口诀二
口诀一：妻子持刀去宰狼，小偷吓得发了慌；躲在架后保己命，半片树叶遮目光。（wife,knife,
wolf,thief,shelf,life,half,leaf）
口诀二：英雄吃土豆芒果西红柿（hero,potato,mango,tomato）
2、可数名词复数形式的不规则变化：
1.有些名词的复数变化形式是不规则变化的。如：man—men,woman—women,foot—feet,
tooth—teeth,child——children，mouse——mice（老鼠），ox——oxen（牛）
2.有些成双成对的东西总是以复数的形式出现。如：trainers,trousers,socks,shoes,shorts
3.单复数一致的名词。如：Chinese，sheep,Japanese,fish，deer
表示国籍的名词（中日不变，英法变，其余s加后面）
4.有些名词原来就有s，但并不是复数形式。如：maths，news
5.复合名词复数变化形式主要有两种：
A.在单词的结尾直接加s。如：anappletree—twoappletrees
(或者woman妇女)构成的合成词，两个构成部分都要变成复数。如：man
driver—mendrivers，womanteacher—womenteachers
三.名词“量”的表示方法：
名词在表示数量时，常用表示数量的of词组来构成，即：“基数词+单位名词+of+名词”，
of之前是表示数量的单位名词，可以根据情况用单数或者复数，of之后如果是不可数名词，
则用单数；如果是可数名词，则用复数。如：acupoftea，aglassofwater，threeboxesofbooks，
apairofshoes.
四．名词词尾的读音规则：
1.在清辅音后读[s]cups，hats，cakes，roofs
2.在浊辅音和元音后读作[z]bedsdayscitiesknivesdogsseas.
3.在[s][z][∫][t∫]等音后读[iz]glasses,faces,roses.
