英语中表示倍数的常见句型
当我们要表达甲是乙的几倍时，通常用下面三个句型来表示：
一.“倍数+形容词（或副词）的比较级+than+从句”
表示“A比B大（长、高、宽等）多少倍”
Thisropeistwicelongerthanthatone.这根绳是那根绳的三倍
（比那根绳长两倍）。
Thecarrunstwicefasterthanthattruck.这辆小车的速度比那
辆卡车快两倍（是那辆卡车的三倍）。
Thisstreetisfourtimesshorterthanthatone.这条街道比那
条短四倍。
Themotherelephantisonehundredtimesheavierthanthe
babyelephant.这只母象比小象重一百倍。
Itistentimeslouderthananother.它比另外一个的声音大十倍。
Thisstreetisthreetimeswiderthanthatone.这条街比那条街
宽三倍。
Iamtwiceolderthanhe.我的年纪比他大两倍。
Theboxisone-thirdbiggerthanthatone.这个盒子比那个盒
子大三分之一。
二.“倍数+as+形容词或副词的原级+as+从句”表示“A正
好是B的多少倍”。
AsiaisfourtimesaslargeasEurope.亚洲的面积是欧洲的两倍。
Theplaneflewtentimesashighasthekite.那架飞机的飞行高
度是那个风筝的十倍（高出九倍）
Iamtwiceasoldashe.我的年纪是他的两倍。
ShestudiesthreetimesashardasI.她用功的程度是我的三倍。
Thislineisfourtimesaslongasthatone.这条线是那条线的四
倍长。
Anordinarytrain,approachingthestation,canbetwiceas
loudastheloudestjet.普通火车进站时发出的声音可能是喷射机的
两倍。
MycommandofEnglishisnothalfsogoodasyours.我英语
掌握得还不及你的一半儿好。
三.“倍数+thesize/height/length/width，etc.+of…”表示
“A正好是B的多少倍”。
Thisstreetisfourtimesthelengthofthatone.这条街是那条
街的四倍长。
Thishillisfourtimestheheightofthatsmallone.这座山的高
度是那座山的四倍（比那座山高三倍）
LineAisfourtimesthelengthoflineB.线条A是线条B的
四倍长。
IhavefivetimesthenumberofTom’sbooks.我有五倍于汤
姆的书。
TheriveristentimesthelengthoftheTamsuiRiver.这条河的
长度是淡水河的十倍。
Itwasovertwicethedistanceoftheearthfromthesun.那是
地球到太阳的距离的两倍多。
Theearthis49timesthesizeofthemoon.地球的体积是月球
的49倍。
Thisriveristhreetimesthedepthofthatone.这条河深度是
那条河的三倍。
下边也可看作是这种句式的变化：
Thelengthoftheroadisfourtimeswhatitwasthreeyears
ago.这条路的长度是三年前的4倍。
Thepriceofthemeatistwicewhatitwaslastyear.肉价是去
年的两倍。
Thesizeofthesunisamilliontimesoverthatoftheearth.
太阳的体积比地球的体积大一百万倍。
InthisworkshoptheoutputofJulywas3.5timesthatof
January.七月份的产量是元月份的3.5倍。
Theprincipaladvantageoftheproductsisatwo-fold
reductioninweight.这些产品的主要优点是重量减轻了2倍。
I’vepaidfivetimestheusualpriceforthestamp.我出了5
倍于往常的价格买这枚邮票。
Theaverageincomeofthestaffhasbeenincreasedby50
percentcomparedwithlastyear.职工的收入增加了50%.
Asurveyshowsthatcoveragerateshaveincreasedbyfrom
two-foldtofour-fold.调查表明，覆盖率已由两倍增至四倍。除掌握
倍数表达的三个常规句型外，我们更要注意的是其常规句型的变形及
其特殊规律。
四、常规倍数句型的变形（共七种）
一）倍数+times+more+名词（可数，不可数）+than…There
arefivetimesmorebooksinourlibrarythaninyours.我们图书馆
里的书比你们图书馆里的书多五倍。
Wehaveproducedtwicemoregrainthisyearthanwedid
lastyear.我们今年生产的粮食是去年的两倍。
Heearnsfivetimesmoremoneythanhedidtenyearsago.
他现在挣的钱比十年前挣的多5倍。
Therearetwicemorestudentsinourclassthanintheirs.我
们班的学生人数比他们班多两倍。
二）倍数+timesasmany/much+名词+as…as
Thereisfourtimesasmuchwaterinthispotasinthatone.
Therearesixtimesasmanystudentsasweexpected.
Heearnstwiceasmuchasheusedto.他比往常多赚二倍的
钱。
We'veproducedtwiceasmuchcottonthisyearastenyears
ago.今年的棉花比十年前多了一倍。
Hehasgotthreetimesasmanybooksashissister.他拥有的
书的量是他妹妹的三倍。
Shespenthalfasmuchmoneyasyou.她花掉的钱只有你花掉
的一半。
需要时还可以在倍数词前，加over，morethan等表示“是……
的多少倍还要多”。例如：
Chinaismorethanthreetimesasrichasitusedto.中国的财
富是过去的三倍还不止。
Iammorethantwiceasoldashe.我的年龄是他的两倍还不止。
HestudiesmorethanthreetimesashardasI.他用功的程度
是我的三倍还不止。
HehascollectedmorethanthreetimesasmanystampsasI.
他搜集的邮票是我的三倍还不止。
三）倍数+timesover+被比对象，表示“增加……倍”Theprice
ofTVsaretwofolddownovertheseyears.近几年来，电视机的价格
下降了两倍。
四）…times+thatof+被比对象，表示“是……倍”
Thegrainoutputinthatvillageistwiceoverthatof2002.
Lastyeartheoutputvalueofindustrywas59percenthigher
thanthatof1976.去年工业产值比1976年增长了59％。Inthis
workshop，theoutputofJulywas4.5timesthatofJanuary.
五）…times+comparedwith+被比对象...by+倍数词
Thenumberofthestudentsinourschoolhasincreased4
timescomparedwith1980.我们学校的学生人数比1980年增加了三
倍。
Comparedwithlastyear，ourcoaloutputhasincreasedby
threetimes.与去年相比，我们的煤产量增长了3倍。(使用by...)
Thenumberofthestudentsinourschoolhasincreasedfour
timescomparedwith1980.我们学校的学生人数比1980年增加了3
倍。(使用comparedwith)
Hisspeedisfasterthanminebyfourtimes.他的速度比我的快
4倍。
Theproductionofsteelhasbeenincreasedtothreetimes
comparedwithlastyear.钢铁的产量比去年增加了两倍。
六）英语中有些词表示特定的倍数，例如：again(一倍),two-
fold，twice,double(两倍),triple(三倍),fourfold(四倍)等数。
MyAuntisasoldagainasIam.我姑姑的年龄比我大一倍。She
hasasmuchagainexperienceasI.她的经验比我的多一倍。
Thetop-brandclothesareoftensoldasdoublethenormal
pricehere.售价经常比正常的售价高一倍。
Thenewworkproceduretripledtheoutput.新工艺使产量增
加两倍。
Theoutputofgrainincreasedfourfold.粮食产量增加了三倍。
七）…times+what+从句
