雅思口语考试-LEEOPart 3 （2）：Part Three Question Type 4:优势描述（Advantages）考生在第三部分还会被问道这样一种题型：What are the advantages of travelling by train?这种问题在雅思口语考试的Part1也会提及。不错，在第一部分这种问题是会出现，但主要是在第三部分出现。通过对问题中的advantages的分析，我们得知这道题考查的是考生对某种事物的优势进行阐述的能力。这种题通常以以下的形式出现：What are the advantages of travelling by air?What are the advantages of living in cities?这道题的出题形式很简单，千篇一律的都是What are the advantages of…遇到这种问题后，考生可以以下面的句式向考官声明问题中问到的事物确实有优势存在：Well I suppose that there are quite a few clear y there are a number of obvious there are a few favourable sly there are a number of positive features.考生需要注意的是，有许多词汇都可以用来形容“advantages”，比如说：clear benefits,
obvious plus point, further merit等。然后考生可以用下面的句式引出第一个优势：But I would probably say that for the most part, the one thing that really stands out is that…But it goes without saying that the most apparent would be that…Although I guess that the most visible would be that…However, I guess that the most evident would be that…紧接着考生可以用下列的短语展开对第一个优势展开具体一些的描述：This is obviously favourable because…This is undoubtedly positive for the simple reason that…This is without doubt beneficial because…有一点值得注意的是，表示突出或举例的连词，比如说especially , particularly, in fact , such
as, for example, specifically等也可以在这里使用。在进行完第一个优势的阐述后，考生可以用下面的句式引出第二个优势：1
雅思口语考试-LEEOAt the same time a second bonus might be that…Besides this, a second plus point could be that…As well as this a further favourable aspect would be that…最后考生可以用下列的短语展开对第二个优势展开具体一些的描述：This is clearly advantageous because…This is definitely valuable since…This is surely a positive feature because…在回答这一类问题的时候，考生描述两条优势即可，没有必要说的面面俱到。还有一点要注意的是，有些考生习惯性的会对劣势也描述一番，这样做无异于画蛇添足，这是因为首先劣势并不是这类问题的所问所指；其次是因为考官会对这个问题中的相关事物在下一个问题中进行劣势的提问。基于上面的分析，What are the advantages of travelling by train?可以向下面这样回答：SAMPLE ANSWER:Clearly there are a number of obvious merits. But it goes without saying that the most apparent
would be that going on a travel by taking trains are much cheaper compared with taking other
forms of transportations, and this is especially true for taking long distance travel—you can travel
from one side China to the other for a few hundred yuan. Besides this, a second plus point could
be that it is much safer than travelling by air or by sea, this is surely a positive feature because
you don’t have to worry about the safety issues, since travelling by train makes you keep yourself
staying most close to the access of the necessities you need in emergency, such as food and
water. And this is in sharp contrast to travelling by other types of vehicles such as plane or Three Question Type 5:劣势描述（Disadvantages）正如上面所说，当考官问完考生有关于优势的问题后，一般都会就相关事物进行劣势的提问，并要求考生对劣势进行描述。以上面这个问题为例：考官：What are the advantages of travelling by train? ↓考生：（考生的答案） ↓考官：Are there any disadvantages?/ (Then) What are the disadvantages of travelling by train?同样，考生也需要用特定的语言来组织对劣势的描述，考生可以以下面的句式向考官声明问题中问到的事物确实有劣势存在：I think it’s fair to say that there are a few negative aspects.I’m sure most people would agree that there are some course there are a couple of shortcomings.同样，考生也可以用一些词汇来说明disadvantages，比如说：negative aspects, unfavorablequality, clear limitation, stumbling block, hassle等。然后考生可以用下面的句式引出第一个劣势：I guess the most impractical characteristic would be that…2

specifically等也可以用来描述劣势。在进行完第一个优势的描述后，考生可以用下面的句式引出第二个优势：Correspondingly, an additional weak point may be that…Supplementary to this, a further handicap may be that…At the same time, another stumbling block might be that…最后考生可以用下列的短语展开对第二个优势展开具体一些的描述：And the trouble with this is that…And this can be a hassle because…This is usually an aggravation(worsening) that…基于上述分析，(Then) What are the disadvantages of travelling by train?这个问题可以向下面这样回答：SAMPLE ANSWER:Well, I think it’s fair to say that there are a few negative aspects. But I suppose the most
unfavourable quality might be that trains are often crowded with many people, most people
would agree that this is problematic because it will make your journey very uncomfortable.
Correspondingly, an additional weak point may be that it is difficult to buy train tickets, especially
around the peak times around some important festivals, such as Spring Festival, and this is
usually an aggravation that you can’t always get the tickets you want.3
雅思口语考试-LEEOPart Three Question Type 6:问题描述（Problems）接下来请考生来看雅思口语考试第三部分中又一个常见问题：What problems are caused by the increase in use of private cars?这道题考察什么实际上从What problems are…就可以看出来。不错，这道题要求考生就问题问到的某种现象所带来的问题进行描述。这种问题通常以以下的形式出现：What problems are caused by international tourism?What problems are associated with overcrowded cities?What are the problems facing the natural environment?这种问题的关键词为What are the problems caused by/ associated with/ facing这一类表明要求描述问题所在的词汇。仔细观察一下这一类的问题，考生不难发现这一类问题所涉及的范围面很大，包括了环境，社会，甚至是全球性问题，所以考生的描述一定要客观。考生在遇到这一类问题的时候应该先用下面的开场句式来组织表示描述问题的语言结构：Obviously we can say there are quite a lot of dangers with regard to this ’s universally accepted that there are a few hazards involved with…This issue is weighed down with a few problems.接着就可以使用下面的语言结构来突出第一个问题：At the outset, the most crucial predicament(difficult/severe situation) is that…First and foremost, one major worry is probably that…Essentially, one fundamental concern is probably that…接下来考生可以用下面的语言结构来具体描述第一个问题：This is clearly alarming because…This fact is unmistakably perturbing (disturbing) because…This needs to be seen as a sensitive matter because…在描述完第一条原因之后考生可以用下面的语言结构来描述第二条原因：4

Andthe principal upshot of this is probably that someday we will finally run up all these resources andhave to face up to a global energy crisis.考生在回答这一类问题的时候一定要注意，有些考生习惯性的描述一下相应的解决方法，这样做毫无必要，这是因为首先这类问题并不涉及解决方法并；其次是因为考官会对这个问题中的相关事物在下一个问题中进行相应的解决方法的提问。Part Three Question Type 7:解决方法描述（Solutions）正如上面所说，当考官问完考生相关的问题后，一般都会就相应的解决方法进行提问，并要求考生对解决方法进行描述。以上面这个问题为例：考官：What problems are caused by the increase in use of private cars? ↓考生：（考生的答案） ↓考官：How could these problems be solved?5
雅思口语考试-LEEO考生需要用特定的语言来组织对解决方法的描述，但是考生一定要注意的是在回答这个问题的时候一定要和之前提出的问题相对应，这点“呼应”是必须要有的。考生可以以下面的句式向考官声明刚才的问题是有解决方案的：In my view there are a number of actions that could be taken.I honestly believe that there are a few ways to tackle these I think we could go about this in a number of ways.然后考生可以用下面的句式引出第一个解决方案：When dealing with the first problem, the easiest way to work it out would be to…In reaction to the initial issue, the most effective way to get to the root of the problem would be
to…在进行完第一个解决方案的描述后，考生可以用下面的句式引出第二个解决方案：Now, taking into account the second challenge, the only way to get to the bottom of this dilemmawould be to…Taking on the second problem, the most successful way to confront this would be to…基于上述分析，How could these problems be solved?这个问题可以向下面这样回答：SAMPLE ANSWER:OK, then. I honestly believe that there are a few ways to tackle these problems. When dealing
with the first problem, the easiest way to work it out would be to develop more advanced
technologies that don’t produce serious air pollution, maybe some kind of special engines or
emission purifying devices. Taking on the second problem, the most successful way to confront
this would be to put more investment into researching an alternative energy resource. In fact, I
think many people have already heard the news about the cars powered by the energy generatedfrom sun or electricity.6
